China lives in the continent of Asia.
During the Ancient China time period, the land consitsed of large forests, great plains, bodies of water, deserts, mountains, and many different varieties of plant life.
In China, the summers were long and very, very hot; and in the winter, temperatures would drop below zero.
The civilizations developed along rivers for agriculture. The floods helped the soil become fertile. The soil was used to farm. The Chinese would fish and plant crops to survive. They took full advantage of their land. People would use the river for drinking water and to clean. It was also hard to travel because of the deserts and mountains surrounding where they had settled.
People's homes were built with mudbrick, their roofs of thatch.
Poor people owned small, one room houses. Richer people had bigger versions containing more than one room. Eventually as time went on, more materials and supplies to build buildings were discovered and used. Buildings became taller and more complex within time.
